Abbey Hulton Carnival 2009
12th September

Abbey Hulton Carnival
Organisations from the Abbey Hulton area joined together to stage the event, which took place on land around the ruins of Hulton Abbey, off Leek Road.

240,000 was spent on improving the site, including the installation of new fencing, seating, litter bins and lighting.

Paths were cleared and trees cut back to allow residents to see the ruins, which date back to the 13th century, and make the park land more open.

This has also helped reduce the amount of anti-social behaviour taking place on the site.
